  • These men served their country and made sacrifices many of us haven't made. Returning their medals is a painfully symbolic protest for them, an exercise of free speech. We should not so easliy, as some have done here, turn our backs on them because we don't agree with their actions.

  • I was worried that President Obama would finally say that he favors gay/lesbian marriage only because I thought that, in some way, it would work against him in the upcoming election. Our country can't afford to have a Republican in the White House.

  • Maybe, the way this is being reported is the truth. Maybe, he didn't seek asylum, but wanted to bring more international attention to the plight of his fellow citizens. He certainly has achieved that.

  • If this happens again, I hope Gov. Shumlin is smart enough to avoid adult black bears who are feeding with their cubs. Apparently, his judgement is not as good as we would like it to be for our governor here in VT. He was lucky. The outcome could have been a lot different for him.
